Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Superintendent to join our Mission Critical team on a large-scale data center construction project in Virginia. The Mechanical Project Superintendent plays a key leadership role in managing field operations, fostering a strong safety culture, and ensuring project success through effective coordination, scheduling, and communication.
This position works closely with the Project Manager to oversee project execution, maintain budgets and timelines, and build strong relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the onsite leader for all mechanical construction activities, including oversight of subcontractors and field personnel.

Promote and enforce a safety-first culture, ensuring full compliance with all company and regulatory safety standards.

Collaborate with the Project Manager to manage project schedules, budgets, and manpower planning.

Develop and maintain two-week lookahead schedules to forecast and coordinate field operations.

Support the procurement process, assisting in the selection and buyout of mechanical subcontractors.

Coordinate the work of subcontractor field forces to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence.

Communicate effectively with project stakeholders including owners, engineers, and design teams.

Ensure all project documentation, reports, and administrative records are accurate and up to date.

Lead daily site meetings to align field teams and proactively resolve challenges.

Mentor, train, and support team members, encouraging growth and professional development.

Uphold company standards, policies, and procedures while maintaining a positive jobsite culture.
Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a Project Superintendent in commercial or industrial construction.

Experience managing mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, plumbing) on data center or mission-critical projects is highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, mechanical systems, and materials.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical and construction drawings.

Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Proven ability to foster teamwork and build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project partners.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); ability to learn job-specific software quickly.

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.

Willingness to travel or relocate based on project needs.
