    The company

    One of the UK’s leading suppliers of UPS and emergency backup generators are seeking a Business Development Manager for Sales within their data centre & grid capacity markets (generator) sector. The firm provide robust power solutions for all industries-plus full asset life-cycle management, service, and maintenance.

    The role

    • As the Business Development Manager for Sales, you will play a major role in growing the sale of Generators into the Data Centre and Grid Capacity Markets within the UK & Ireland.
    • Promote the firm into the Data Centre and Grid Capacity Markets for the supply of turnkey, engineered generator solutions.
    • Provide updates on the UK & Ireland DC market including projects, main players, and opportunities.
    • Build strong relationships with the End users, M&E Contractors, General Contractors, MEP Consultants and Cost Consultants.
    • Attend exhibitions, networking events and conferences that are relevant to the sector.
    • Support of the Applications team in the successful negotiation with the client acceptable pricing, technical details, commercial terms and conditions and technical contents within the business guidelines and at optimised project profitability.

    Could this role be for you?

    • HNC/HND or equivalent, in a suitable engineering discipline would be beneficial.
    • A strong understanding of the market will be beneficial with a minimum of 3 years’ experience selling Generator products or similar into the sector.
    • Self-Starter with a huge drive to grow a new sector for the firm.
    • Willing to travel throughout the UK but predominantly in the South, Sales doesn’t happen at home so regular meetings and networking is key.
    • Good team player, key to success is having the backing of the Applications Team.
    • High level of IT literacy and experience with spread sheets and word processing
