Job Title: Control Room Shift Engineer
Location: South West of London

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Control Room Shift Engineer to operate and manage a state-of-the-art Command and Control Room, ensuring the availability, reliability, and efficiency of critical engineering systems for 24x7x365 operations. This role will report to the Control Room Engineering Supervisor and collaborate with the Campus Technical Facilities Managers and Service Desk team to meet our customer’s high standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the continuous monitoring and efficient operation of engineering systems via Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Management Systems (EMS).
- Respond to incidents and system alerts, assessing their severity, risks, and impact, while following incident management procedures to resolve issues within defined timeframes.
- Collaborate with the Preferred Maintenance Contractor (PMC) to provide technical support and first-line incident response.
- Produce performance reports on technical third-party suppliers and assist in service delivery improvements.
- Support the company’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ensure all engineering tasks are completed in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive technical records and update shared knowledge platforms for information sharing across campuses.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
- A recognised Level 3 or higher trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in critical building engineering services.
- Extensive experience working with BMS, EMS, and CAFM systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Member of a professional engineering institution (CIBSE, IMechE, IET) preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with technical design and operational standards.
- Eligibility for SC Clearance (sponsored by the company).
