Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person (S.A.P) to work on a high-profile Data Centre project in Frankfurt. This role is critical to ensuring the safety, compliance, and efficiency of high-voltage electrical systems in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, authorization at HV levels, and experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly data centres.
Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the management, operation, and safety of high-voltage (HV) electrical systems on the data centre project.
- Perform switching operations, isolations, and issue safety documents such as Permits to Work and Isolation Certificates in line with safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, statutory regulations, and company policies for electrical systems.
- Carry out inspections, testing, and maintenance of HV equipment, ensuring system reliability and integrity.
- Support commissioning teams during energisation phases and provide expert guidance on HV system design and operation.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with HV operations, ensuring safety for all personnel.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate activities and ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain accurate records of all HV operations, permits, and safety documentation.
- Provide training and mentoring to junior staff on HV systems and safe working practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Authorised Person (S.A.P) on large-scale projects, preferably data centres or similar infrastructure.
- Authorization to operate and manage high-voltage electrical systems, including issuing safety documents.
- Extensive knowledge of HV/LV (High Voltage/Low Voltage) electrical systems, protection schemes, and equipment.
- Familiarity with commissioning processes for HV systems, including energisation and fault testing.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations, codes of practice, and risk management principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Fluency in English; German language skills are an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant electrical engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Certification in HV operational safety and authorisation processes.
- Experience working on data centre or mission-critical projects.
