A leading global market leading contractor is actively seeking a Section Engineer (Civils) to work on a Hyperscale Data Centre project in the South West/Wales area with a huge pipeline of work globally. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high value projects within a stable and rapidly expanding sector.
The role
- As the Section Engineer, you will play a major role in delivering one of the largest data centre projects in the South West/Wales area.
- Manage and supervise the construction of civil engineering works including foundations, structures, drainage, and external works.
- Ensure the execution of work aligns with technical specifications, industry standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to coordinate activities and ensure the smooth progression of works.
Could this role be for you?
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Section Engineer or similar role on major (£100m+) infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
- Data centre experience is ideal.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and experience in groundworks, concrete structures, drainage systems, and site logistics.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety practices within a construction environment.
- CSCS card and SMSTS qualification (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proficiency with engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and GPS survey systems.
