MY SPECIALISM

I specialise in one thing: hard-to-find BAS & Controls talent in the U.S. My world is founder-led system integrators, owner’s reps and mission-critical operators who can’t afford a bad hire. I focus on BAS Programmers, Field Technicians, Systems Engineers and Automation Project Managers who can move between graphics, logic, commissioning and client meetings without dropping the ball.

I’m not a CV-forwarder. I’ve spent 8+ years in recruitment, including running a consultancy that trained other recruiters how to stop being transactional and actually add value. Every brief starts with market data, a clear view of the total addressable talent pool, and a defined search strategy – not “we’ll see who applies.”

BAS and Controls has become an obsession for me. I’ve lost plenty of late nights going down rabbit holes on platforms, protocols and where Tridium Niagara and the wider stack are heading. I also know the best people in this industry are rarely “on the market,” which is why I partner with them across their whole career. When we work together, I want it to feel like I work for your company, I just happen to sit at DataX.

WHO I AM

Away from job specs and org charts, I’m pretty simple. I was born in Boston, grew up in New Hampshire, and most of my favourite memories are skis, forests, and great coffee in cold cabins. These days I split my time between Massachusetts, US and Hampshire in the UK, usually with a dog lead in one hand and my phone on silent in the other. I’ve got a generational, slightly painful love for Crystal Palace, an unhealthy obsession with the New England Patriots and Tom Brady, and a habit of reinvesting in myself whenever I can. Courses, books, late-night deep dives into BAS and controls. I like getting off-grid, long walks, and long-term relationships with the professionals I work with, staying in touch over years and helping them make a few big, defining career moves rather than chasing the next quick jump.
