Senior Commissioning Engineer – Data Center & Mission Critical Projects

DataX Connect are representing a Global Real Estate and Engineering Company that is currently seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to support mission-critical and data center projects in New York. This position is based in Palisades and offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to work on high-profile, technically complex projects.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing commissioning processes to ensure building systems operate at peak performance. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, stakeholders, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage commissioning activities for electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Develop and review commissioning plans, test procedures, and detailed reporting.
• Conduct inspections, system testing, and performance verification on-site.
• Document deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions through to completion.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Maintain accurate documentation across all project phases, including reports and change orders.
• Stay informed on industry best practices, standards, and emerging technologies, bringing forward ideas to optimize processes.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and project requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in commissioning data center systems.
• Strong background in electrical and control systems.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainable building practices.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional certifications such as CxA, PE, or LEED AP.
• Experience with commissioning processes and system performance testing.
• Strong skills in technical writing, project management, and data analysis.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
