Electrical Commercial Manager – Mission Critical Project (Austria)

Overview

A leading international contractor is mobilising on a brand new mission critical project in Austria and is looking to appoint an Electrical Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across the electrical scope.

This is a key senior role responsible for full commercial oversight of electrical packages from pre-award / procurement through delivery, valuations, change management, and final account. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Director, Commercial Lead, Construction Management and key supply chain partners to ensure strong commercial governance and best-in-class cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full commercial ownership of the electrical scope including procurement, contract administration and cost control

• Manage budgets, forecasts and cost reporting for electrical works and associated packages

• Lead subcontractor procurement including tender analysis, negotiation and appointment recommendations

• Administer subcontractor contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and project procedures

• Prepare, submit and agree interim valuations and payment applications

• Manage variations / change control: pricing, substantiation, submission, negotiation and agreement

• Maintain accurate cost records, risk registers and commercial trackers

• Produce monthly CVRs and commercial reports, highlighting risks, opportunities and mitigation actions

• Support programme and progress teams with commercial input for delay / disruption matters (where required)

• Lead final account preparation and settlement for electrical subcontract packages

• Work closely with project leadership to drive commercial performance, cashflow and margin protection

• Ensure robust commercial governance and adherence to internal processes and approvals

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrical Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong electrical bias

• Experience delivering major MEP packages on large-scale projects (mission critical/data centres strongly preferred)

• Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement, tendering and contract negotiation

• Strong understanding of change management and commercial administration in live environments

• Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to work across site teams, design, planning and supply chain

• Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to protect margin and manage risk

• Strong Excel and commercial reporting capability (CVC/CVR experience essential)

• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management (or equivalent experience)
