    DataX Connect are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety (HSE) Manager to lead and oversee all health, safety, and environmental aspects of a major data centre construction project in Paris for a global developer.

    This role is critical to ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, industry best practices, and company policies to ensure the project is delivered safely and successfully. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, excellent leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of safety regulations in EU.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and Implement HSE Policies: Establish, update, and enforce health, safety, and environmental procedures and protocols specific to data centre construction. Ensure compliance with local regulations, European standards, and company policies.
    • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies tailored to the data centre construction site. Proactively identify potential safety risks and implement preventive measures.
    • Site Inspections and Audits: Regularly inspect and audit construction activities and site conditions to ensure compliance with HSE policies. Coordinate site safety inspections, investigate near-misses, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
    • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver safety training programs for all staff, contractors, and sub-contractors on site. Promote a culture of safety through ongoing education and awareness initiatives.
    • Incident Reporting and Investigation: Manage and investigate all safety-related incidents, accidents, and near misses. Provide detailed reports and lead post-incident analysis to prevent future occurrences.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the project adheres to all French and EU safety regulations, including but not limited to workplace safety laws, environmental protection regulations, and hazardous materials handling.
    • Coordination with Stakeholders: Liaise with project managers, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution. Ensure collaboration and alignment across all teams to meet safety objectives.
    • HSE Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all safety activities, including incident reports, audit findings, and training sessions. Ensure all necessary permits and documentation are in place.
    • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve safety performance and develop innovative solutions to emerging safety challenges in the construction of high-tech infrastructure such as data centres.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.) is highly desirable.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in HSE management, preferably in large-scale construction projects or data centre environments. Experience with French/EU construction safety regulations is required.
    • Certifications: NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent; French safety certification is an asset.
    • Knowledge: Deep understanding of French and EU health and safety regulations, especially in the construction industry. Familiarity with data centre builds is highly advantageous.
