MEP Quantity Surveyor – Data Centre Construction

Reports to: Commercial Lead / MEP Cost Manager
Role Purpose
The MEP Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the commercial and cost aspects of the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) packages on a hyperscale data centre project. This includes procurement, cost planning, contract administration, and financial reporting. The role requires strong technical understanding of MEP systems and the ability to operate within a high-value, fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for MEP scopes based on design drawings and specifications.
- Manage procurement processes and subcontractor negotiations for MEP packages.
- Monitor and control project costs related to MEP works, ensuring alignment with the approved budget and financial targets.
- Administer contracts and manage change control processes.
- Conduct valuations, progress assessments, and manage interim and final payments.
- Liaise with engineering, design, and site teams to ensure cost and scope alignment.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Produce regular cost reports and forecasts for senior stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on MEP packages.
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects, ideally in mission-critical or data centre environments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and installation methodologies.
- Familiarity with NEC, FIDIC, or similar contract forms.
- Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.
