Senior MEP Planner (Electrical Bias Preferred) – Data Centre Project (Austria)

Start Date: ASAP / Q1-Q2 2026 (project mobilisation phase)
Overview
A leading international contractor is commencing a brand new mission critical project in Austria and is looking to appoint a Senior MEP Planner to support delivery from early-stage mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.
This is a key role within the project controls / planning function, working closely with MEP Construction Management, Project Management, Commercial, and Commissioning teams to build and manage robust programmes and reporting across all MEP works.
An electrical bias is preferred due to the nature of the works, however strong mechanical planners with proven MEP experience will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage and maintain the integrated MEP construction programme from mobilisation through to completion
- Take ownership of detailed MEP planning for electrical packages (LV/HV, containment, cabling, switchgear, lighting, etc.) and interface with mechanical scope
- Build and maintain short-term and long-term lookaheads (2-week / 4-week / 6-week / 12-week)
- Coordinate with construction teams to validate sequencing, productivity assumptions, and logic ties
- Lead planning workshops with package managers, subcontractors and key stakeholders
- Manage interfaces between CSA and MEP works to ensure programme alignment and risk mitigation
- Support progress updates, reporting, earned value / progress measurement (where applicable)
- Identify and monitor critical path activities and key constraints
- Produce weekly and monthly planning reports, dashboards, and programme narratives
- Support change control, programme impact assessments and delay analysis as required
- Work closely with commissioning teams to ensure commissioning logic is built into the programme
- Assist in mitigation planning and recovery programmes when required
Requirements
- Proven experience as an MEP Planner / Senior Planner on major construction projects (mission critical/data centres strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of electrical services scope and sequencing (preference)
- Ability to manage complex subcontractor programmes and multi-package coordination
- Advanced Primavera P6 experience is essential (MS Project also beneficial)
- Strong reporting and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working in fast-paced site environments and leading planning discussions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to challenge progress / assumptions when required
- Full right to work in the EU or willingness to work in Austria (support can be discussed depending on employment type)
