We’re seeking a Shift Lead to join the team at a state-of-the-art data centre in Watford.     About the Role:
    As a Shift Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations within a critical data centre environment. You will manage a team of technicians, ensuring efficient performance and immediate response to any technical issues. Your leadership will be key to maintaining up time and ensuring the highest standards of service. This role operates on a shift pattern, ensuring 24/7 coverage.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and supervise a team of data centre technicians, ensuring smooth operations during your shift.
    • Monitor and maintain critical systems, including electrical, cooling, and UPS infrastructure.
    • Respond quickly and efficiently to incidents and troubleshoot any operational issues to minimise downtime.
    • Oversee shift handovers, ensuring clear communication and continuity between teams.
    • Ensure all operations comply with health and safety standards and company policies.
    • Maintain accurate logs and reporting for all shift activities and incidents.
    • Collaborate with other departments and senior management to improve operational processes.

    Requirements:

    • Experience working in a critical environment is essential.
    • Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable.
    • High Voltage Authorised Person (HVAP) certification is advantageous, though training will be provided for the right candidate.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead under pressure.
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
    • Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern, including nights and weekends.
