Subject Matter Expert – Electrical
Working from home with travel to sites across EMEA.
The role leads the electrical discipline within the EMEA Design function, ensuring quality, technical evolution, and operational excellence in standardised products. This includes innovating and contributing to master plans, developing electrical/mechanical systems, design standardisation, and continuous improvement. The position reports to the VP of Design Management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and assist with writing and editing electrical specifications and equipment selection.
- Assist with plant equipment standardisation and vendor selection.
- Provide strategic direction for custom projects.
- Mentor and support team members through training and career development.
- Review electrical deliverable for technical accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with design and project teams to improve engineering methods.
- Conduct electrical reviews to ensure project adherence to standards.
- Work with engineering teams on client-related design changes.
- Foster strong relationships with other departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of relevant experience; ideally chartered or professionally registered.
- Extensive knowledge of building codes, data center infrastructure, and construction techniques.
- Proficiency in software such as MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to interact confidently with senior stakeholders.
