A leading service provider in the mission-critical sector is seeking a highly capable Data Centre Engineering Manager to oversee engineering operations at a major data centre site in the Docklands. This is a senior role responsible for maintaining operational excellence, managing all site-based engineering teams, and ensuring full up time of critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate all engineering and maintenance operations across the site

Act as the technical authority on all systems, including 11kV high-voltage infrastructure

Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, risk assessments, and statutory obligations

Manage shift engineers and specialist subcontractors, including training and development

Oversee PPM delivery, asset management systems, and emergency procedures

Act as a primary point of contact for client liaison and technical reporting

Support incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
Candidate Profile:
-
Minimum of five years’ experience in a critical environment or data centre operations

High-voltage authorised person (HVAP) status essential

Recognised technical qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering (e.g. City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2, 17th/18th Edition, 2391)

Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing technical teams

Proficient in systems such as BMS, CMMS, UPS, generators, HVAC, and emergency lighting

Demonstrates initiative, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to service excellence
