Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Superintendent to oversee the successful execution of mission-critical construction projects in the Charlotte area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex builds, excellent leadership skills, and a deep commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion and enforce all jobsite safety policies, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with estimating, project management, and division leadership to coordinate all aspects of project delivery.
- Serve as the primary onsite leader, maintaining effective communication with owners, designers, and subcontractors.
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring milestones and budget goals are achieved.
- Supervise daily construction operations, including progress tracking, reporting, and quality control documentation.
- Oversee the review and coordination of project plans, drawings, and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance.
- Plan and manage staffing levels, material procurement, and equipment needs throughout all phases of construction.
- Recruit, train, and manage onsite personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies and HR procedures.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractor activities to ensure performance aligns with project requirements.
- Facilitate resolution of onsite issues in collaboration with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure all regulatory inspections are completed successfully and that the project remains in full compliance.
Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in commercial or mission-critical construction.
- Proven experience as a lead superintendent on at least one large-scale project.
- Experience managing projects valued up to $80 million preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work primarily outdoors in a construction environment, exposed to varying weather conditions.
- Capable of standing for extended periods and working at heights.
- Able to lift or move up to 70 pounds and perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, and kneeling.
- Comfortable working in environments with noise, dust, fumes, and other typical construction site conditions.
