    Overview

My client is a leading European contractor specialising in high-specification data centre construction. The business delivers full turnkey solutions, covering design, civil and structural works, architectural packages, mechanical and electrical systems, and commissioning. With multiple large-scale projects underway across Europe and several hundred megawatts of IT capacity currently under construction, the organisation continues to expand rapidly.

To support this growth, I am seeking an experienced EHS Lead to join the team in the Netherlands.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure full compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation, aligning with the project delivery plan and the company’s Integrated Management System.
    • Drive adherence to project-specific Environmental, Health and Safety plans.
    • Coordinate and contribute to the development and review of method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action, and permit-to-work processes.
    • Support the implementation of best-in-class safety practices in line with the project execution plan.
    • When required, lead and manage an on-site EHS team to maintain a strong, proactive safety culture across all project disciplines.
    • Promote consistent EHS standards through clear leadership and engagement with all stakeholders.
    • Maintain positive client-facing communication and respond promptly to observations or concerns.
    • Design and deliver safety-focused briefings and training sessions across all levels to build strong awareness and accountability.
    • Oversee R.E.A.C.H assessments, hazardous substance controls, and report outcomes to senior management, including recommended actions.
    • Ensure safety interventions are completed, recorded, and followed through.
    • Conduct regular site audits and inspections, document findings, and ensure timely corrective action.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • A recognised qualification in Environmental, Health and Safety.
    • Strong experience managing EHS on major construction projects. Data centre experience is advantageous.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead an EHS team and meet project deliverables.
    • Experience with Autodesk BIM360 Field is beneficial.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Process-oriented with a strong understanding of Integrated Management Systems.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of current EHS legislation and industry best practice.
    • Ability to manage all on-site environmental, health, and safety aspects confidently and effectively.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
    • Capable of working both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
    • Flexibility to adjust work patterns in line with project requirements.
    • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.

    Benefits

    • Opportunity to work with a market leader in the fast-growing data centre construction sector.
    • Join a progressive team delivering critical infrastructure across Europe.
    • Long-term career development and professional growth opportunities.
    • Competitive remuneration package.
    • A supportive working environment built on equality and inclusion.
