Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Data Center

DataX Connect are partnered with a global real estate company who are dedicated to making an impactful difference to the mission critical sector.

This opportunity will be based out of Chicago, Illinois.

The position

Develop and ensure adherence to commissioning processes and best practices unique to the data center & mission critical environment. Within the team, maintain accurate and updated documentation processes throughout the commissioning process, including project plans, progress reports, change orders, and final commissioning reports.

Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices related to commissioning and project management. Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute innovative ideas to enhance project delivery and streamline commissioning processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute commissioning processes for building systems
• Develop and review commissioning plans, test procedures, and reports
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders
• Conduct on-site inspections and performance testing
• Identify and document deficiencies and oversee corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements

Required Qualifications:

• 5-10 years experience in building systems commissioning
• Strong knowledge of electrical, and control systems
• Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability practices
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, or related field)
• Professional certifications (e.g., CxA, PE, LEED AP)
• Experience with commissioning and system testing
• Technical writing
• Project management
• Data analysis
• Attention to detail
