The Opportunity
We are currently supporting the delivery of a major Data Center development in Lubbock, Texas
and are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Lead on a long-term contract basis.
The Electrical Lead will take responsibility for the field execution and coordination of the project’s
electrical construction scope, working closely with the General Contractor, electrical
subcontractors, engineering teams and wider project leadership.
This is a hands-on construction position requiring someone who can maintain a strong field
presence while also managing project coordination, contractor performance, scheduling and
project controls. Candidates with experience delivering large-scale Data Center, Mission Critical, Power, Industrial
or similarly complex construction projects would be particularly well suited.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the electrical construction scope across the project.
* Provide day-to-day oversight of electrical contractors and subcontractors.
* Maintain a strong field presence and monitor electrical construction activities.
* Monitor installation progress, quality and compliance with project requirements.
* Coordinate electrical works with Mechanical, CSA, Controls and other project disciplines.
* Manage interfaces between electrical packages and the wider construction programme.
* Review electrical construction schedules and monitor contractor progress against project
milestones.
* Identify schedule risks, interface issues and potential delays and support corrective actions.
* Participate in site walks, coordination meetings and contractor progress reviews.
* Review electrical drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs and technical documentation.
* Work with engineering and construction teams to resolve field and constructability issues.
* Support the delivery and installation of major electrical infrastructure.
* Monitor General Contractor and subcontractor performance.
* Coordinate construction activities through testing, energisation, commissioning and
turnover.
* Ensure electrical works are properly coordinated with the overall construction sequence.
* Provide clear reporting to project leadership regarding construction progress, risks,
scheduling and contractor performance.
Experience Required
* Strong electrical construction experience on large-scale Data Center, Mission Critical,
Power, Industrial or similarly complex projects.
* Proven experience overseeing electrical contractors and subcontractors.
* Strong understanding of electrical construction and major power infrastructure.
* Experience working with construction schedules, project controls and contractor
management.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
* Strong understanding of construction sequencing and multidisciplinary coordination.
* Experience identifying and resolving field and constructability issues.
* Experience supporting testing, commissioning and energisation activities is highly
desirable.
* Comfortable working directly in the field and engaging with contractors and trades.
* Ability to operate effectively between field construction and project management
responsibilities.
* Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
* Data Center construction experience is highly desirable.
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a related
discipline is preferred; however, candidates with significant relevant construction
experience will also be considered.
Contract Details
This is a long-term contract opportunity based in Lubbock, Texas.
The role requires a significant on-site presence, and candidates should be comfortable travelling to
and working from the project location.
Rate: $80-$110 per hour + per diem.
Specific travel and rotation arrangements will be discussed based on individual availability.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Lead to take ownership of a critical
package on a major Data Center development, overseeing delivery from construction through
commissioning and turnover.
