Project Engineer (Mechanical) – Northern Virginia – Summer 2026

Overview
Opportunity to join a major data centre construction programme supporting mechanical delivery across hyperscale builds. This role will focus on cooling infrastructure and mechanical systems critical to uptime and performance.
Key Responsibilities

• Support mechanical package delivery across multiple phases of construction
• Coordinate subcontractors installing HVAC systems including CRAH/CRAC, chillers, pumps and pipework
• Manage RFIs, submittals and technical documentation
• Track installation progress and ensure alignment with programme schedules
• Support QA/QC inspections and commissioning readiness
• Work alongside commissioning teams during functional testing and system validation
• Assist with project reporting and coordination meetings

Requirements

• 2-5+ years’ experience in mechanical construction or building services
• Exposure to data centres, pharma, semiconductor or other mission-critical environments preferred
• Understanding of mechanical systems including chilled water, cooling distribution and plant systems
• Strong organisational and coordination skills
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced site environment
