Senior Project Engineer (Electrical) – Northern Virginia – Summer 2026
Overview
We are supporting a leading general contractor delivering hyperscale data centre projects across Northern Virginia. They are looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to support delivery on a large-scale, fast-paced campus build.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager and Senior Leadership team on electrical package delivery
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors and design teams to ensure alignment with project milestones
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders and technical documentation
- Oversee installation progress against programme, identifying risks and driving solutions
- Support QA/QC processes and ensure compliance with project specifications
- Work closely with commissioning teams through L2-L5 and into IST phases
- Assist with cost tracking, forecasting and reporting
Requirements
- 5-8+ years’ experience in electrical construction, ideally within mission-critical or data centre environments
- Strong understanding of electrical systems including LV/MV distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators and controls
- Experience working for a General Contractor or large MEP contractor
- Exposure to commissioning and handover processes
- Strong coordination and communication skills
