Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and full oversight of large-scale mission critical construction projects. This role owns delivery outcomes, project performance, profitability and client satisfaction, ensuring successful execution from preconstruction through final turnover.
The position requires expertise managing highly complex, high-value programs and leading cross-functional teams across multiple phases of project delivery. This leader drives operational discipline, scheduling oversight, risk management, client interfacing and subcontractor execution.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and champion a strong safety culture across all project activities.
- Provide full oversight of field and project operations, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, budget and quality expectations.
- Manage and mentor project teams, ensuring accountability, communication and performance standards.
- Support preconstruction including quantity takeoffs, bid package and scope development, trade coordination and schedule planning.
- Lead subcontractor buyout, pricing verification, scope validation and contract execution.
- Oversee and manage submittal processes, shop drawings and sample approvals.
- Drive schedule adherence and ensure timely document flow across internal and external teams.
- Support development of guaranteed maximum price (GMP) deliverables and project proposals.
- Analyze productivity, performance, risk exposure and financial impacts.
- Provide leadership to client discussions and presentations during preconstruction and execution.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies and continuously assess potential impacts to budget or schedule.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage complex single projects exceeding $500M or multiple concurrent programs.
- Support business development opportunities and client relationship management.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery teams.
Skills, Experience & Attributes
Required
- Experience managing mission critical or data center construction projects.
- Proven track record leading programs valued at $500M or greater.
- 15+ years construction management experience.
- Strong leadership capability with direct team management experience.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Expertise in risk management, scheduling, budgeting and contracting.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience interfacing directly with executive stakeholders and owners.
Working Requirements
- Ability to travel periodically to project locations.
- Full-time, on-site team leadership commitment.
- Comfortable operating within demanding and time-sensitive project environments.
