Your Role
As a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage the commercial aspects of major mechanical contracts – ensuring value, compliance, and cost control from tender through delivery. You’ll be the go-to for budgeting, reporting, subcontractor accounts, progress valuations, and change management across high-value engineering works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Budget development, BOQs, cost reporting, and profit planning
- Manage subcontractor payments, valuations, and final accounts
- Issue and negotiate interim and final applications
- Maintain tight control of variations, remeasures, and site changes
- Collaborate closely with planners to ensure accuracy of reporting
- Ensure contract compliance and mitigate commercial risks
- Represent the project team in commercial meetings and negotiations
What You’ll Need:
- 4+ years experience in mechanical quantity surveying
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics (or equivalent)
- Background in mechanical systems – plumbing, pipefitting or M&E engineering
- Experience delivering mechanical packages over €5M+
- Strong commercial and contractual understanding
- Proficiency in Excel and cost-tracking software
- Organised, proactive, and confident in stakeholder engagement
